Forgotten Genres Brought Back to Life!
How many good Westerns have you seen on the big screen in the past year? For many of us, the answer is few, if any; indeed, we could probably count on one hand the number of Westerns that have even been made in the last year. It is, for whatever reason, not a particularly popular genre anymore—but the good news is, the Western lives on at Loving the Classics Reviews!
Indeed, celebrating classic genres is a big part of what Loving the Classics is all about. The Western is just one example; while we can think of only a handful of recent Westerns—the Coen Brothers’ True Grit is one, but even that was based on a John Wayne classic—there are pages upon pages of them in the Loving the Classics library. The Western lover could spend hours browsing the collection and revisiting these favorite movies time and time again.
And the Western isn’t the only vintage genre embraced by Loving the Classics Reviews. There’s also the classic style film noir—which, again, you don’t see much of these days. But there’s noir aplenty at Loving the Classics—more hardboiled detective action than you can shake a stick at!
Other genres represented at Loving the Classics are slightly less rare. The musical, while certainly not as vibrant as it used to be, is somewhat represented in modern-day Hollywood, thanks to prestige pictures like Chicago and Dreamgirls. But there’s a huge collection of musicals available at Loving the Classics—movies starring the Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby, and more!
And of course, the list goes on. Loving the Classics Reviews is certainly not light on comedies or dramas, and it also boasts a wide assortment of horror, mystery, action/adventure, and sci-fi selections! There are genres aplenty at Loving the Classics, enough to make it an essential destination for movie lovers of any stripe!
